Perama is located at an altitude of 470 meters and is 4 kilometers from the centre of Ioannina town. Built on the banks of Lake Pamvotis, boasts the famous Perama Cave.
Northwest of the Caves hill, were iron knives, handles and shells of the 4th century BC. Remarkable is the church of Saint Charalambos, which was painted in 1769 by Athanasios Kapesovitis. The temple architecture presents several quirks such as two aisles and large pillar in the center of the narthex, supporting a wooden ceiling.
Equally important is the church of St. Nicholas, built in the 16th century.
Perama has many accommodations, restaurants, cafes and enough shops and handicrafts workshops. The annual festival of Perama, take place on February 10, the day of St. Haralambos.
The build of stone Town Hall, the information center, the traditional cobbled streets and the train of cave, gives in the region of Perma a special glamor.
