Location

Perama is located at an altitude of 470 meters and is 4 kilometers from the centre of Ioannina town. Built on the banks of Lake Pamvotis, boasts the famous Perama Cave. Northwest of the Caves hill, were iron knives, handles and shells of the 4th century BC.

The stone-built City Hall, the "Anna Petrocheilou" visitor information center, the ornate cobblestones and the guest transport train from the Cave Promotion Center, give Perama a special glamor, which in combination with the hospitality of its people have highlighted the wider area to an important tourist destination.

The architecture of the temple presents several peculiarities, such as two aisles and a large pillar in the center of the narthex, which supports a wooden ceiling. Equally important is the church of Agios Nikolaos, built in the 16th century.
